Benajah Harvey Carroll, Jr. (1874-1922), author, educator, minister, chaplain, journalist, editor, and U.S. consulate, earned degrees from Baylor University, University of Texas, and Southern Baptist Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky. He was ordained a minister in Waco in 1894 and served churches in both Kentucky and Texas, and headed the department of history and political economy at Baylor for a short time. Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area.
